The Behavioral Rating Inventory of Executive Functioning – Adult Version (BRIEF-A) is a standardized measure that captures views of an adult’s executive functions or self-regulation in his or her everyday environment. The inventory uses both self-reporting and observer reporting. The original BRIEF assessed Executive Functioning in children; the BRIEF-A focuses on adults. This assessment is useful to assess for developmental, systemic, neurological, and psychiatric disorders.
